T & Flap (GTE) Diverter Dampers

T-DIVERTER DAMPER:

T-Flap GTE Diverter DamperT-Diverter dampers are commonly used when an application requires diversion of gas to flow another direction. This damper is normally arranged as a dual damper and resembles a Pipe-T. The individual dampers are usually mechanically linked together so when one is open the other is closed. By adding a modulation actuator, this damper will allow diversion of modulation to wither outlet. Most are of the T-configuration but 45° and “Pant Leg” versions are also available and can be supplied round or rectangular/square.

ROUND SEAL DESIGN:

Flextech Industries offers three basic seal designs:
Butterfly-Dampers2

  • Swing-through: Swing-through seals are used in extremely dirty applications where tight shut-off is not required. The gap around the blade can be increased or decreased to suit the customer’s individual need.
  • Step Seat: The step seat is standard for butterfly dampers and is recommended for relatively clean flue gas applications with up to a 99% sealing efficiency. This design utilizes a rolled bar that is welded to butterfly housing at the blade-closed position.
  • Tadpole: A tadpole seal is also recommended for relatively clean applications, when tighter leakage rates are required. The tadpole seal is constructed of a woven high-temperature silica cover with a silica rope bulb. This design provides up to 99.9% sealing efficiency.

RECTANGULAR/SQUARE SEAL DESIGN:

Depending on the degree of isolation desired, the damper can be equipped with an assortment of flexible and non-flexible seals. The range from our base Step Seat to our “Full Set” of engineered seals which include Blade-to-Side Frame (Jamb), Blade Overlap, and Blade-to-Frame (Top/Bottom Sweep).

LINKAGE:

Louver Damper7Louver Damper6Fixed linkages are standard but adjustable linkages are available upon request. The design is heavy-duty, low-cost, and ideal for both modulation and isolation.
 

 

 

 

 

PACKING GLANDS:

All packing gland design are compression-type with either a single wrap, for low to mid-temperature and clean to moderate particulate buildup, to a 3-wrap design for all other applications. The packing gland is located between the external frame and the bearing brackets for ease of maintenance.

ACTUATOR SYSTEMS:

Flextech can include most types of actuation requirements, i.e. electric, pneumatic, manual, etc…, as well as accommodate other requirements such as an extended shaft or mounting of a customer supplied device.

Our single blade diverters are designed with several unique and patented features for improved flow distribution and sealing efficiency of your system. The Diverter structure is designed to accommodate all internal and external loads the application may require.

RUGGED CONSTRUCTION:

Our flap diverter dampers feature rugged, heavy-duty construction for longer life. Blade and body material can range from basic A36 to most high end stainless steels and alloys. Our design supports re-packable, exterior-mounted packing glands and outboard heavy–duty flanged bearings for easy maintenance.

CUSTOM ENGINEERED:

Our Flap Diverter dampers are custom-engineered to your specifications. They are capable of achieving 99.9% sealing efficiency in the open or bypass mode and our Seal Air system is available for Man Safe applications.

INNOVATIVE BLADE DESIGN:

The design of our flap diverter damper blade adds efficiency and economy. Our blade design is encapsulated which means it weighs less than other designs and requires a smaller actuator. This reduces both initial and operational costs thereby requiring less energy consumption to open/close blade.
