Flextech Industries’ high-efficiency GTE diverter dampers are custom engineered to divert high-temperature exhaust gases from a gas turbine to the heat recovery boiler or bypass system. Our single blade diverters are designed with several unique and patented features for improved flow distribution and sealing efficiency of your system. The diverter structure is designed to accommodate all internal and external loads the application may require.
Rugged Construction
Flextech Industries’ flap diverter dampers feature rugged, heavy-duty construction for longer life.
- Body and blade materials can range from carbon steel to stainless steel and Hastelloy.
- Efficient drive cycle ensures desired open/close times.
- Flextech design supports repackable, exterior-mounted packing glands and outboard heavy –duty flanged bearings for easy maintenance.
Custom-Engineered
Flextech Industries, Ltd. Flap Diverter Dampers are custom-engineered to your specifications.
- Capable of achieving 99.75% sealing efficiency in the open or bypass mode (Seal air system is available if 100% sealing needed for personnel safety.)
Applications
- Heat recovery boilers in cogeneration units
- Gas turbine exhaust
- Steam generators
Innovative Blade Design
The design of Flextech’s flap diverter damper blade adds efficiency and economy.
- Flextech blade is encapsulated, weighing less than other designs.
- Blade requires smaller actuator. This reduces both initial and operational costs, thereby requiring less energy consumption to open/close blade.
Isolation Option
- With internal temperatures up to +1,200°F, our standard unit maintains an outer skin temperature of less than 300°F. This temperature can be reduced to less than 150°F by applying specific design options.
- Internally insulated diverter has independent floating inner liners to match mating ductwork.
Behind Flextech’s patented Bellow Seal dampers you will find very dangerous environments – temperatures in excess of 1,000°F, deadly gases, and ear-bursting pressures. And a few feet away, separated by the Bellow Seal barrier, you will find crews working in confidence and safety performing routine maintenance, inspection, and repair. Where the safety of plant personnel is concerned, use Flextech Bellow Seal technology.
Flextech Flap Diverter Dampers:
- Patented Bellow Seal design
- Temperature compensating design
- Rugged, heavy-duty construction for longer life
- Thermally insulated body for higher efficiency
T-Diverter Dampers
“T” diverter dampers are commonly used when an application requires diversion of gas to flow to another direction. This damper is normally arranged as a dual damper and resembles a Pipe-T. The individual dampers are mechanically linked externally so that when one is open, the other is closed.
By adding a modulation actuator, this damper will allow diversion or modulation to either outlet. Standard 90° and 45° T-damper assemblies are available as round and rectangular/square configurations.
Shaft Seals
Flextech provides a low-cost, heavy-duty design that is suitable for applications with clean, corrosive, dirty, and/or dry environments. Our design can be utilized for applications up to 2,000°F gas temperature. Flextech butterfly dampers are equipped with a standard outboard bearing and frame-mounted shaft seal arrangement. This arrangement allows for packing replacement without bearing removal. We offer four seal designs for butterfly dampers:
Swing-through Seal
Swing-through seals are used in extremely dirty applications where tight shut-off is not required.
The gap around the blade can be increased or decreased to suit the individual customer’s need. This design can be used in applications up to 2,000°F.
Step Seat
The tadpole seal is also recommended for relatively clean applications, when tighter leakage rates are required. The tadpole seal is constructed of a woven high-temperature silica cover with a silica rope bulb. This seal can be used in designs up to 2,000°F.
It provides up to 99.5% sealing efficiency.
Tadpole Seal
The tadpole seal is also recommended for relatively clean applications, when tighter leakage rates are required. The tadpole seal is constructed of a woven high-temperature silica cover with a silica rope bulb. This seal can be used in designs up to 2,000°F.
It provides up to 99.5% sealing efficiency.
Step Seat with Perimeter Seal
The step seat with perimeter seal is recommended for clean applications. This seal is similar to the step seat, with the addition of an elastomeric perimeter seal bolted onto the blade. Sealing efficiencies rival those of the tadpole seal. Maximum design temperature is 400°F.
Outboard Bearing with integral Packing Gland
Suitable for applications with particularly dirty and corrosive flue gas environments demand the separation of the shaft seal and bearing – thus protecting the bearing from corrosion. It also allows repacking the gland without bearing removal.
